A professional performing arts centre in the heart of the Comox Valley, the Sid Williams Theatre is one of the busiest venues of its size in British Columbia.
The auditorium has just over 500 seats, including a 140-seat balcony and accessibility platform. The theatre lounge is fully licensed, offering refreshments and snacks prior to a performance and during intermission.
While the building is owned by the City of Courtenay, the theatre has been operated by the Sid Williams Theatre Society, a registered charitable organization, since 2000. A professional staff is responsible for the day-to-day running of the theatre, from artistic programming to custodial, from promotions to lighting design.
